Maureen & Luke
The Kelley Farm
When we first met with Maureen and Luke to talk about their wedding, we knew this was a match made in heaven. These two are our “type” of couple. We hit it off right away and just a few minutes in to talking about their big day, we were stoked. Maureen showed us a photo of her AH-MAZING dress, and I personally couldn’t wait for their wedding based on that alone! These two have an awesome story and an incredible relationship, and we just knew we had to be there!
We showed up at The Kelley Farm the day of the wedding, ready for just about any weather. October in the Pacific Northwest can be a little volatile, but Maureen and Luke lucked out. There were awesome clouds out that day, but no rain. We met up with the bride and groom and began shooting all of their awesome details. Luke is a firefighter, so naturally their wedding included some fun fire-themed details. Our personal favorite was the personalized fire axe they used to cut their cake, it was definitely the coolest cake cutting knife we have ever seen!
While getting ready for the ceremony, we got to meet and hang out with all of Maureen and Luke’s friends, which was a blast. They had a great group, and we were in on a little surprise that would happen during the reception that we were particularly excited about.
The ceremony was perfect for the two of them, and we really enjoyed their officiant. He led an incredible ceremony, and had a lot of unique insight and advice to offer this couple. As you can imagine, we’ve been to a lot of these things… and there was nothing repetitive about this one.
Afterwards, we stole the Bride and Groom away for some photos. We had a blast with these two, and definitely included the fire theme in their portraits as well. We got these two back to their reception just in time for some delicious pizza, and their grand entrance as Mr. and Mrs. Racey. After dinner, and speeches, it was time for the traditional bouquet and garter toss. This is where that surprise comes in. One of Luke’s groomsmen had planned to propose to his girlfriend during the bouquet toss. The Bride and Groom were in on this and it was such an exciting moment for us to capture. For those of you wondering, she said YES, and then the dance party began.
This one was definitely one of our favorites. The groomsmen had all brought animal masks with them, and pretty much nothing makes dancing photos better than a good unicorn and german shepherd head in the mix. This post is going to include some extra photos, but we just have to share the proposal and the hilarious animal mask photos.
Check out the photos below, and leave your comments and congratulations for Maureen and Luke!
